Enoch…what we can learn

Genesis 5: 23- 24 says” Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years.Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

Last night as I was reading the book of Mark, the Lord dropped in my spirit Enoch and so I went on over to Genesis and begin reading about Enoch, what I discovered was that Enoch never faced a physical death.  All this time I have read about him and never put the two together, that he never died physically like we will. I just assumed when it said he was no more that he died.

And so as I continue to read on him my study bible took me back to reference in Hebrews 11:5 by faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.

And so I began to think about what does this mean for our relationship with Jesus because for Enoch to be in the Hall of Faith, Hebrews chapter there has to be an excellent reason right?

The more I went through the pages of my bible I saw that the relationship that Enoch had with God. Enoch lifestyle was a standard and a challenge to the ungodly. Jude 1:14-15 tells us this. Enoch spoke out against the ungodly and immorality, he told them about God’s judgment on them for their ungodly behavior and conversations.  Believers should live a life that it is clear to those around us that we have a deep relationship with God and we live to please Him.

We too can say we are faithful but just how faithful are we really? Does life influence us and does our agenda’s come before our time with God? Do we always seek God first before we do anything?  And I mean anything and everything? To be honest family and friends, we aren’t as faithful to God as we should be. And I for one am not going to make any excuses for myself.

I do believe the Lord had a very good reason as to why He wanted me to read about Enoch and his life, and because of that it made me look at myself. Don’t you just love how the Lord puts things in your spirit to make you look deep within yourself? I know I do and I thank Him for it. We all need improvement in our relationship with God the Father. AMEN!

I don’t know
