Equally Yoked

1 Corinthians 15:33 says” Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

Most of the time when we hear equally yoke the first thing that comes to our mind is marriage. But when we look through the scriptures we will see that equally yoke is not just about marriage.

Today I am sharing one about how we as people have a tendency to hang-around folks who have a bad reputation in other words bad company. Remember when you was young your parents  always wanted to know who you was hanging around and wanted to know their? And most of the time especially if you was a teenager we hated the fact that our parents wanted to know we thought it was the worst thing going. We would even defend our friends and tell our parents that he or she is not a bad person.

What we didn’t realize was that our parents were looking out for our welfare, they weren’t trying to be nosy. They knew that bad company will ruin good values and morals that they have given you and I.

Now that we are adults many of us have forgotten about those younger days we find ourselves hanging out with bad company. Truth be told you and I can’t hang out with all people  because if we do the verse that is given here today will happen to us and before long those good values that the Lord has placed in us will be washed away because of the bad company we have kept will be an influence to us.

Remember we are to be the salt, we are to share those fruit of the spirit in our lives, but we are not to let corruption bring us back to the darkness. AMEN
