Sabbatical

The Biblical example of Jesus’ own frequent withdrawal to a quiet place to meditate, pray and be renewed is a model. In His ministry, the constant demands of people lead Jesus to step away on a regular basis.

The time has come for me to take a Sabbatical, the last time I did this was last year. For some time now the Lord has been speaking to me to come to a place of resting  and refreshing. I must say I have been disobedient because He’s been speaking to me for over a month and now I am finally going to do it.( I know shame on me)

I had my reasons as to why the time was not right for me because I have to prepare posters and track cards for “Evangelism” in the park in a few weeks, I also have to get in-touch with the Newspaper there is a magazine in which I have started for the Ministry and it has  got to get to the publisher’s for editing so it can be on the market. For me this is not the right time to take  a sabbatical. (but how many of you know our timing is not God’s timing)

Each day I kept hearing the Lord telling me to lay it all aside and stop doing everything and come to be refresh. Ministry is hard work period, who ever said it was easy was just kidding themselves. I  have had some ups, downs and some challenging moments with some great victories, glory to God.

And so I will be starting my sabbatical tomorrow,  I am not sure what the Lord has for me but this one thing I do know it will be a blessing. God bless you all and I will see you back here at The Devotion Cafe when the Lord releases me.

  1. God bless you as you take this time away to be with Him starting tomorrow. Much is gained when we take heed. Peace and joy be with you in Christ! See you when you come back 🙂

  2. God bless you abundantly, as you obey His call upon your life. My time to step away is coming up too, and so I will keep you covered in prayer!

  3. I know you’re on sabbatical, but when you get back I wanted you to know that I’ve been missing your posts! So I thought I’d leave a comment for ya. Be blessed. 🙂
