Good day to you and thank you for stopping by the Cafe today. Many people use social media for lots of different reasons from building clients to making new friends, to sharing the same hobby. One thing I have noticed and often asked myself with all the people who are using these social network services I wonder just how much do they know the people who are connected to them?
For instances when I first started using “Facebook” I had some reservations about it, I’ve heard all the bad things and only a few good things, it took me years before I made up my mind to have a page on Facebook. To make a long story short I saw where some people had hundreds of connections as friends and I asked myself do they really know all those people on a personal note?
Than I saw when I started blogging on Google I had hundreds of people following my blog and that was good but I still had to ask myself do I know them and do they know me?
Maybe you don’t ask those questions maybe those things don’t bother you or even prompt you. But it seems to me to have such an amount of people who follow your site don’t you think you owe it to yourself to get to know them? Like I said people use these social sites for different reasons right? Each day trillions of people hit the internet and from their time on theses social sites you can believe they will find your site, and when they do what ever you have shared will do two things either they will follow your site or they will just visit only.
And so my question to you today is this, if you are using any type of social site are the people who are following you do you know them? Have you taken the time to get to know them? Or do you just want to have people following you so that you seem popular?
I use social sites to help people I’ve met lots of people, but I also saw where the people who was visiting was like me learning how to walk this journey as a Christian. And though I heard lots of bad things about social sites I put myself out there to get to know these people who was needing help. Yes I understand some people just don’t want you to get to know them, and that is okay, but I still had to reach out to them anyway.
No one like rejection and because I put myself out there the Lord brought people to me, and it’s been a blessing. I no longer have that bad taste about social sites anymore, yes there are some bad things out here but I don’t let that keep me from doing what I am to do.
The Lord has saw fit that I am able to connect with some people not only through the social sites that I have but on an even more personal level that I am able to pick up the phone and call them and they can pick up their phone and call me and that makes it even sweeter.
I hope this post today gave you something to think about, because we all use social sites for many reasons, many people visit our sites each day some are new some are frequent visitors but what ever there reason for visiting I pray you would take the time to get to know them.
you would be surprised at how you could be a blessing to them….
