What are we speaking, what are we allowing to come from our hearts? There is a saying that says” sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Did you know that this is a false statement, because words do hurt.
Take a look at what words you speak every day out of your mouth. Are you speaking words of life or are you speaking words of death? Jesus teaches that we need to be careful as to what comes out of our mouth. He also says that the words we speak comes from our hearts.
Let’s start taking inventory of our hearts and let us speak life, for there is far too much death being spoken as it is. Yes, people will say nasty things to hurt us but should we speak death to a person just to get even with them? What character are you showing to those who do you wrong?
Matthew 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
We all are so guilty of speaking wrong words. It’s time to change our speech. AMEN
