What does your Bible look like?

2 Timothy 2:15 says” Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

What does your bible look like? Is it all marked up with your notes or do you not write in your bible? For me my bible is marked up with lots of my notes I have added to certain verses, this helps me to remember what I was thinking or what God spoke to me as I read that verse.

I was talking to my hubby about getting a new study bible because some of my pages have come from the binder of the bible, I even have paper clips to keep some of those pages together and in order. But one Sunday in church as I stood to read the word and open my bible those paper clip pages I had together fell out of my bible and on the floor, the first thought that came to my mind was people are probably thinking to themselves “she can’t afford a new bible?” But you know it has nothing to do with money, I like what my study bible looks like,to me it shows just how much I use it. I’ve had this bible for over 10 years, and I know where everything is. Would I like to purchase a new study bible, nope I will keep what I have, will I take it to a book dealer to get them to put the pages back into the binder, nope. Why mess with perfection! God hasn’t changed, His word is still the same.

So tell me how is your bible?

  1. Haha we are EXACTLY the same here – my bible was “attacked” by my puppy 7 years ago, all torn and tattered on the corner, but I cant bring myself to get a new one. We’re buddies that Bible and me 😀
