I am NOT a SUPER Christian

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’

For years I have always wondered why in the world do people call themselves a super Christian? Could it be that they do it all? But what of ALL are they doing? When I heard of this saying I thought I had to be All I can Be. Sounds like the Military Slogan if you ask me. But seriously folks, I thought I had to do every thing I had to be in every little thing every time the church doors open I was there. Then one day I realized that this is way to much I can’t be all people want me to be, I can’t even be all God wants me to be.

Family God “NEVER” intended for us to be Super Christians and I don’t know where this word came from because it is surely not apart of God’s plan or design for us to be this superficial person.  There was only one person who walked in the Anointing twenty-four, seven ( 24/7)  there was only one person who was sinless and His name is Jesus Christ. The bible tells us that we are to be Christ like but that does not mean we are to be  Christ ourselves. Because we will never be Christ, we live in sin. We may be saved by grace but sin follows you and I daily. This is why I do believe if we would stop attaching these worldly sayings to our Christian Journey and learn to do what the word says, then we would not have time for all this foolishness that others say. God never called us to be super Christians it’s not even in the bible, and anytime something is not in the bible then it’s a clear sign that it comes from the enemy.

Perhaps you are feeling you are a super Christian always doing things right, if you do everything right without mistakes then I want to shake your hand because me, Desiray I make errors,  I don’t always get it right, I don’t always feel like doing what God tells me to do at times. It hurts me when people treat me wrong and I have to pray for them instead of not like them. Yeah I am far from being this superficial person I rather be the real Christian, Me Desiray the one who cries out to God for help the one who doesn’t mind when strangers see me crying the one who will come back later and ask for forgiveness even when I should have done it the moment it happen.

I can’t live up to the Super Christian it requires too much fakeness and no reality, I am a person who lives in reality and so I do things in reality, faking it is not apart of who I am and never will be, so maybe today you are like me you are tired of those people and everything that goes along with being a fake Christian. It’s time for the real children of God to stand up because I tell you now and it’s not me saying these words it’s in the bible, Jesus said in Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.'” this is not going to be an exciting time for the people who are not real for Christ. Make your stand today so you won’t be burned later

  1. Very true, Desiray!

I haven’t heard the term, “super Christian” before but I know well what it means. The thought that occurred to me while reading your post is that when people try and do it all, they draw attention to themselves and away from Christ. And when they stumble and fall (because they will) they hurt the reputation of Christ and trip up others along the way.

  2. Amen!!! You hit the nail on the head with this one. It requires too much fakeness and leaves no room for realness . I’m not that super Christian either. Whoever thinks they are in this day in time is only lying to themselves!!! Love this post! 👏

  3. Oh thank the Lord for this post! Last night I was complaining, asking the Lord why I just cant stop messing up and not be perfect. Dumb question, I know; but I couldn’t help feeling like that. Sometimes I wonder if I’m the only non-super Christian in the world! Your post just brought me some relief 🙂
