First Sunday of November

Desiray’s Thoughts On this First Sunday of November

Can we just talk?

Can someone explain to me why when someone post a prayer request on any given social site, that you never see a responded prayer written? What you see is someone commenting I am praying for you.

To me that makes no sense at all. I look at it like this it probably took everything out of that person to come out of their comfort zone to even post a prayer request online knowing that everyone will see it.

Then for that person who posted the request comes back to see that not one person actually took the time out to type a prayer for them. There are no excuses  I know some of you are thinking who am I to say this? I know it’s easy to tell a person that you will say a prayer for them. But how many times have you forgotten to pray for that person who asked for prayer? You don’t have to raise your hand for we all have forgotten.

What if Jesus said I will pray for you when you go to Him and He treated you the way you treated that person and did not respond in prayer? You would be devastated.

We see it on social networking sites, you see it on your Facebook, Twitter, even the blogs you follow. I know I have. Someone has ask for prayer and the only thing you and I  see are comments from people saying I am praying for you.  I have to be truthful I would rather that person NOT pray for me!!!

And here is the reason, if you came to my site you saw my request and you could not take a minute to type a prayer, the same amount of time it takes a person to type praying for you. Believe me you could have typed a prayer.

This is why we struggle when it comes to reaching the lost this is why we struggle when it comes to building the body together. The lost says why would I want to know about their God when they don’t even help their own? The saints say why do I want to fellowship with the body when the body won’t isn’t there for me?

My food4thought:

Ask yourself this day” would Jesus tell a person I will pray or did Jesus pray immediately?

Until man’s heart change he will “NEVER SEE GOD!”

Lord we need to turn our hearts truly over to You Lord God.  We have got to get to the place where our hearts are like Yours Lord God. Jesus help us love and reach out like You do. We gotta stop listening and making excuses all because we want to gratify our flesh.

“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? Jeremiah 17:9

  1. Thought provoking. I see this in a new light and will now follow up my praying with posting a simple, uplifting prayer. 🙂
Thanks for helping me see another point of view.

    1. You are welcome I never thought of it like that until over the many times I have seen so many post a prayer request and no one prayed which bothered me. Thanks for seeing it and making the change. That is how the Lord would have us to be.

  2. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately! It seems to me the phrase “I’m praying for you” is just lip service and something we actually don’t mean or do. I often wonder if that person literally stopped and prayed or included it in their daily prayer time.

    1. I have been wondering the exact same thing. I know I was convicted of it. I would tell a person yes I am praying and will forget all about them. Now I make it a habit to pray immediately. We have to get away from all the lip service and have heart service. Thank you for your comment. Have a blessed Monday
