Speaking In Tongues

When it comes to “tongues” of all the gifts this one is the most controversial gifts of all. Now you all know me I never debt God’s word and so I won’t today, so please put aside what you thought you knew or what you was taught and let’s go  directly to the word of God.

What is tongues? Tongues is the Holy Spirit giving you the supernatural ability to speak in a foreign tongue that you have no knowledge or ability to speak on your own. When you have been baptized with the Holy Spirit one of the signs is speaking in tongues.  In Romans 8:26 it says, In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

Which means there will be moments we are going to be lost and don’t know what to pray for, and I know each one of us have found ourselves feeling like oh, God what do I pray about how do I say the words. This happens to every believer but the blessing is God has given us a gift which is tongues and when we don’t know what to pray or what  to say we immediately begin to pray in tongues and when we do this it’s the Spirit praying directly to the Father, there is no motives when we pray in the spirit. Because the spirit knows just what to pray to the Father about concerning you.

When you have this gift of speaking in tongues you are to pray in tongues more often than you should, everyday when you pray in this tongue you are developing a prayer life and that prayer life becomes strong and you become in tune with the Father more so.

For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.” 1 Corinthians 14:2

Today begin reading more about Tongues in 1 Corinthians 13, 14 chapters and also read the book of Acts this will help you to see why each believer must have this gift.

Now the other part of tongues is interpretation now this gift here is which we normally see and hear when in a church setting, someone will speak in a tongue and another will interpret what was spoken. Both gifts are important, and if you so desire to interpret a tongue you must seek and stir this gift up within you. When it comes to interpret of tongues some people believe it’s not for today some think it’s not of God, sadly even those folks are wrong.

When you interpret a tongue it is not you giving what you think what he or she said, it’s the Holy Spirit moving upon you. And believe this anytime a tongue us given God has already been speaking to both people about a message He has to give to His person’s way before both parties starting speaking in tongue. Sometimes two tongues are given and we should never under-estimate the power of God and think only one tongue should be given…Understand with interpretations of tongues there must and I stress the word must be order, if a tongue is given and the interpretation is given while the tongue is still speaking it’s out-of-order and God is not there it’s all flesh.

I say this because so often I have witnessed with my own ears how people will get in the flesh and be so out-of-order and I sit back in my seat and say Lord have mercy on them. We can never misuse God’s gift for anyone or anytime, we must treat it with honor at all times. If we misuse God’s gifts you and I will be held in judgment…

I for one thank the Holy Spirit for the gift of speaking in tongues.

  1. I am pleased that you are gifted with “tongues” as are many of my good friends. Most people who have not been so gifted do not know what you are talking about. But the Holy Spirit can move upon someone to the extent that they experience a high level of God’s presence, which I interpret to be the “infilling” of the Holy Spirit. While this is not a guarantee of personal holiness, nevertheless it gives one power to overcome the enemy’s onslaught.
I believe you are doing a credible job at sharing the news of this gift from God and I will be praying for you. Remember to point people to “the Giver”, not “the gift.”
    Blessings,
    Daryl

    1. thank you Daryl and yes I always point people to the giver. This post I wrote today was to let people know that tongues is for every believer. Sadly not many saints believe it is for us today, they assume it was only in the bible for people then and not now. Tongues is the evidence of one even having the Holy Spirit.
