The sayings we take as Scriptures. .

Thank you ALL so much for the prayers. I appreciate it so much. Today I feel like me even though I haven’t eaten any soild foods yet. Prayerfully tomorrow I can eat solid foods.

Alright now for today’s devotion. Why do we stand on man’s made scriptures?  You’ll probably wondering what I am talking about.

For example “God helps those who help themselves” I have searched the bible and have not found these words in the bible.

And yet we quote it all the time, we stand on it, we believe it. Why do we do this? Truth of the matter is this, we listen to what people have spoken when in fact we should read the bible for ourselves.

This is why many of us don’t see changes in our circumstances because we are quoting scriptures that are not in the Word Of God and we are standing on false words.

Don’t get me wrong I know why we say these things, to make us feel better but feeling better and knowing the word are two different things.

Today I challenge you to think about what other words are you using instead of God’s Word? Remove quotes and sayings from your vocabulary that are not in the bible.

You will be surprised as to how your faith will grow. Once we stop quoting wrong scriptures

Have a blessed day.

  1. “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” That one is flying around all over the place, and Scripture NEVER says that.

  2. I believe the scripture from which we loosely get the saying God won’t give you more than you can handle is 1 Corinthians 10:13 King James Version (KJV) 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
