Promises we make to People

What does it say about your character, when you break your promise?

Keeping  promises demonstrates our “True Inner Self.”   It shows whether or not we have corruptible or incorruptible morals (fruitful seed) inside of us.   Things like Integrity, Honor, Self-respect and Honesty means everything to a person and to God.

What has happen when a man’s word was all he had? Years ago back in the day I can remember my dad when he would give a person his word to do something they would shake hands and the deal was sealed.

broken promisesWhat happened since then? Is mans word no longer good anymore? Why do we alter our promises? We make a vow or promise to someone then later instead of manning or women up we give an excuse as to why we can’t do it. Don’t you know that now your integrity and credibility with that person is shot. They are going to be very leering when it comes to coming to you again. They will think that you do shady business. And you can’t blame them.

Do you think God is pleased as to how you handle it? NO! He is not pleased and yet we will try to justify it by saying I had something else to do I had an emergency I forgot. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses. You can tell people anything but God is not going to accept our excuses.

God doesn’t accept the altering promises!
Lev 27:9-10 And if it be a beast, whereof men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that any man giveth of such unto the LORD shall be holy.  He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good

What this scripture is telling us is that The Lord teaches us that we must not go back on our promises even if it means we have to pay a big price just to keep our word. We are held accountable for them.

God requires His children to keep their word,  no matter who or how uncomfortable or unpleasant it maybe. We are to make amends with the person or persons we made a promise to and make good of our promise.
