longsuffering12 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

As humans we don’t understand the reason behind long-suffering, and yet we will have it in our lives. The question we ask ourselves is what to do? The Lord Jesus wants you and I to endure it. For in our suffering we don’t go through it alone, Jesus gives us the strength and everything we need to be able to wait upon the Lord.

The next time you find yourself sitting there looking at your situation and complaining remember it’s the long-suffering that will make you grow stronger. Remember Jesus Himself endured suffering and still to this day He waits for humankind to call upon Him so that they may be saved.

Think about this for a moment what would happen had Jesus gave up and did not endured the suffering for all? What if He got tired of waiting for you to accept Him as Lord of your life?

He never stopped pursuing you, what makes you think that He won’t be there for you when you go through your long-suffering?

Have a Wonderful Friday and Great Weekend.

  1. This really ministered to me, Desiray . . Thank you. I read a post today where the author said the root of all suffering is sin. Can you help me with this? Is long suffering different from just suffering? Thank you and God bless you!

    1. Good day Debbie first I want to say I am thank the Lord that it ministered to your soul. As for your question concerning suffering and long-suffering they are the same thing their is no difference in meaning.

patiently enduring lasting offense or hardship is what long suffering is. and through that the Lord teaches us to be patience during hardships, He teaches us to not be offensive, it’s through the enduring that our growth begins.

This is why many don’t have this fruit in their lives, we all go through things in life that is a given, we can’t stop life. But it’s how you handle the suffering that shows one having this fruit active in his or her life.

I hope this helps you..thanks for the question…if you need me to explain more please don’t hestiate to ask me okay?

  2. Yes…Jesus is still waiting for individuals to turn to him and find salvation. Thank you for that reminder. This helps me continue in my place of challenge, which has been lengthy. If Christ has said, “Nope! ….think I’ll spare myself the pain of crucifixtion and fly off this cross…none of us would be saved from an eternity apart from Him. In fact, we would be suffering at the hands of the unmerciful fires of hell. Hallelujah, what a Savior. And so, we suffer, trusting it will not be in vain, but used for God’s glory.
