Isaiah 40:31 says” But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
What a powerful verse filled of strength and encouragement for you and I. We love this verse we quote this verse, and yet I don’t think we realize our part in this verse. The Lord God will keep His word. You and I must do something as well.
And that is “WAIT” so what does it mean to wait? Does that mean we sit still with our hands folded? Do we go and make things happen? The hebrew word for wait is qavah., it means to wait, look for, hope, expect. when we read it from the Hebrew it reminds me of the one verse that reads in Habakkuk 2:3 says” This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.
Now that we know what the word wait means let’s not get ahead of the Lord Jesus. AMEN!
