Living at Peace with Everyone

Romans 12:18 say’s If it is possible as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

In our culture today it’s difficult to live at peace with everyone seems like everyone is either arguing or fighting because they want peace.

And yet we can’t even live at peace with those in our own household. What is Paul telling us when it comes to living at peace with everyone? Does that mean that we are to just agree with everyone so the peace is kept? I don’t think that is what Paul is saying.

What he is saying is that Christ followers are to do their best to cultivate peaceful relations relationships with others. THis does not mean that Christians are allowed to compromise their faith and values for the sake of getting along with or pleasing others.  Christians must often take a bold stand against worldly values and behaviors.
