Forgiveness..

We all know that Jesus is the perfect example when it comes to forgiveness. We have read the stories and read the sermons Jesus gave on forgiveness.

Don’t hold this charge against them!

And though we know in our minds we are to forgive we struggle with it. Some people will say well I am not Jesus, and though you are not Him you are to be Christ-Like. And so today I am going to show you that there were people in the bible just like you and I who struggle with forgiveness but eventually they learned to forgive. And so can you and I.

silenceActs 7:59-60 “While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.

Just in this verse alone we see Stephen being stoned and yet he prayed that the Lord will not hold it against them. How often have people done things and said wicked things to us? Did we say what Jesus and Stephen when it came to forgiveness? Did we say Jesus, don’t hold this against them? Family we can never control what people will do but what we can control is how we will respond to them..Forgive and be the example like Jesus..AMEN

  1. I think that many who are reluctant to forgive as they understand the meaning of “forgiveness” and its implications could and would forgive as God defines forgiveness. God bless!

    1. Absolutely.when an individual understands that freedom comes they will. But even if they don’t we are still called to forgive. So we just need to stop making excuses.
