Deuteronomy 5:16 says “‘Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
When we think of the word “Legacy” we think of treasured possession to leave our love ones when we have gone. We leave these treasures so that they can be taken care of without worries.
But what about a legacy that our children can hand down to their children’s children? We all desire to leave a legacy to our love ones but what God is telling us is that we don’t have to wait until we are gone in order to leave a legacy.
Our families and love ones should be enjoying our legacy while we are still here so that we can enjoy it with them. Give your family a legacy in which you can say in your heart,” I’ve fought the good fight, I’ve given them the necessary tools to make it in this world. Giving them love and showing them to love thy neighbor and pray for all men and forgive those who done them wrong. This is a legacy to live in which God will be pleased with.
Here in Deuteronomy we see the value of this legacy that your days upon the earth may go well with you. AMEN
