Deuteronomy 8:11 says’ Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
Moses constantly kept reminding Israel of God’s mighty power with which He kept them alive in the wilderness for forty (40) He warns them not to forget God when they enter the Promised Land and become prosperous.
We live in a materialistic world when many have money in their bank accounts prestige and many friends they forget all about God so quickly. But when we are in desperate need we will make all the time in the world to read our bibles, pray, praise and fellowship with Jesus. During that time nothing is more important to a person then drawing closer to God. But the moment the Lord delivers us and bring us to that promise land we become just like the children of Israel we forget all about God and the time we spent with Him.
Our actions says allot about us, it says that we only call on the Lord when we are in trouble. It speaks what is really in our hearts. Now for a moment imagine what if God treated us the way we treat Him? What if God forgotten you? How would it make you feel?
This is what we are to remember, Deuteronomy 8: 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. Like the nations the Lord destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the Lord your God.
Never forget what God has done for you, and don’t think that God will over look it when you have forgotten Him and what He did for you while you was desperate and needing help.
