Rest In The Lord

Resting

Exodus  33:14 says”And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28 says” Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

In Webster’s dictionary the word rest used as a verb means, cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength. When used as a noun it means, an instance or period of relaxing or ceasing to engage in strenuous or stressful activity.

And yet we struggle with resting in the Lord all because we try to use the world’s definition and what we neglect to see is that the world’s way of resting requires one to rely upon oneself. No wonder we never get rest because we can’t do nothing apart from God. We have to solely rely upon Him. And when we rest in Him then are we able to wait patiently. AMEN

  2. In God there is peace. He didn’t leave us here to have to do it alone. The sooner we accept His help, the calmer and happier we’ll be. Great post!
