What Jesus said to the “thief” while on the cross

Luke 23:43 says’ Jesus answered him,” I tell you the truth; today you will be with me in paradise.

The word or term “paradise” us used in reference to heaven or the presences of God. The place of rest and delight in his presence . Jesus teaches that after physical death , those who have a personal relationship with God go immediately into his presence in heaven. (2 Corinthians 5:8) for a believer , “to die is gain.”

Now this dying thief probably didn’t understand Jesus mission for the bible doesn’t speak much concerning this person. What the bible does tell us is that while he was on the cross next to Jesus , he said we are punished justly for we are getting what our deeds deserve, But this man has done nothing wrong. Then he said,” Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus resumed,“I tell you the truth; today you will be with me in paradise.

This thief acknowledge Jesus innocent and Kingship, it’s God’s grace that no matter how much people have wasted their lives no matter where you have been  what you have done the assurance of salvation is only a simple request away. This is why we must spread the message of Christ to as many people as possible so they too can choose to follow Jesus.
