The unknown

Isaiah 41:10 say’s So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

When we become frighten we read this verse to comfort us, but did you ever ask yourself what does the word “dismay” means? David used this same word in the book of Psalm when he talked to God and to himself. The word dismay means down in heart.

Now that we understand the meaning of the words then the scriptures become alive to us, so what was God saying to Isaiah? God is saying that we who are his children can claim the promises of God, as Christians, we must not fear other humans because God is with us. He gives us the grace and strength needed to face all of life’s circumstances; helping us through times of crisis by giving is hope and peace, providing for our needs and supporting us on our efforts to fulfill his purpose for our lives.
