You have the Necessary

Psalm 23:1 say’s The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.

I remember when I was a young girl my mother? taught us children this verse, she always told us that anytime we are scared just recite these words and you will have peace.

psalmAnd you know what Mom was right because when I would have a bad dream I would recite these words and the boogie man would be gone. Little did I know that I never lacked anything.

The psalmist  is informing us that those who follow God will not lack anything necessary for God’s purpose to be accomplished in our lives. For they will be content with how the good shepherd cares and provides for them even in times of personal hardship, because they trust his love and commitment to them.

Often times when we don’t have something that we want we automatically believe we are lacking, but truly as you can see in this scripture you and I lack nothing that is a necessary. I do believe we get our desires confused with what we think we lack.

As you go about your day today, please keep in mind that you lack absolutely nothing. Now how bless are you? To know that you don’t lack nothing.

  1. Hi Disiray!! Beautifully conveyed…I had a friend tell me once, that we really don’t need anything, but we want everything. But truly our Shepherd knows what we have need of…and He’s working it out as he teaches us to be steadfast and patient…Here, I’m reminded of James..

-But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing –
    (James 1:4)
    Blessings…Blessings…Blessings To You!!
