You Are Called To Be Free!

Galatians 5:13 says” You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freed to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.

Question: What motivates you to live a good life?
Being free does not give us a license to sin so that we can get grace. And yet we abuse our freedom to do what we want. Think back to the day you moved away from home, what did that freedom mean to you? What were you free to do that you could not do while at home?

thF4JQWBEVPaul is telling us that we were once in slavery to sin and now that we are in Christ Jesus we are liberated and free. We don’t have to indulge in the old sinful nature any longer. Have you heard people say that they can’t help themselves? What they are really saying is that “they don’t believe that they are free in Christ”.

I am not minimizing anyone’s struggles but when Jesus says you are free He means just that, you don’t have to indulge with the sinful nature but until a person take it by faith that they are free they will always struggle with sin.

Your challenge today before you read Galatians 5:1-13 ask the Holy Spirit to help you, then as you are reading the verses let it marinate in your spirit. When you are done reading wait for the Holy Spirit. Let those verses be in your heart and mind all day today.

  1. I love reading your posts! They bring new light onto different areas of the Word. I was going to use this verse for my post today but decided to go in a different direction. I’m now glad that I didn’t! I enjoy your perspective much more!
