A Cup of Courage

2 Timothy 1:7 says” For God hath not given us the spirit of fear but; of power, and love, and of a sound mind.

courage

I want to talk about something that we all at times feel inadequate about, and that is “COURAGE.”How many of you remember the cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz? The director of the movie shared with us something about them all, their strengths and weakness. But the cowardly lion lacked something that you and I do. He lacked the courage to believe in himself. It’s just wasn’t that he was afraid although they portray him to be, he really lacked the courage to believe within himself. And when you and I don’t believe within ourselves we become just like the lion afraid of things.

But because the lion did not believe in himself someone else had to show him just how much courage he did have he just haven’t tapped into it. And aren’t you and I like this we go to someone else to get courage when in fact we already have it in us. Have you noticed when you go to someone else they see you being stronger than we see ourselves? Other people can see our courage but for some reason we don’t see it, and why is that? How come we can’t see what others see in us? I believe the reason is because we feel inadequate.

Today I want you to walk away from this devotion believing within yourself, you have the courage to stand no matter what is around you, no matter what the circumstances are. We can’t control what life throws our way, one thing we can do and that is have the courage to face it head on. Tap into what lies within you, for you have that power.

And at the end we saw that the cowardly lion was no more a coward he received his award for courage, it’s amazing that the moment the cowardly lion received the award he stood tall. See the man who gave him the metal already knew he had the courage he was teaching him that it is not the metal pendant you are wearing. Just like you and I we don’t need to have a metal pendant on to have courage we just need to believe in ourselves.

Father God I ask you today to touch each person who feels as though they don’t have the courage to stand or to move forward Lord. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind….2 Timothy 1:7

I hope you was inspired and that you make today a brand new day where you will believe within yourself. Have the courage because the Lord will do mighty and wonderful things in your life and you will do great exploits.
