Lies

Remember this old saying”‘Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive”

hunger and thirst

What is it about a lie people are so early and willing to believe? A lie has no facts to it and some people will support a lie over the truth. Why do we do such a thing? Is it the excitement in the story that gets our attention?

Exodus 20:16 says” You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.  (Speaking falsely in any matter, lying, equivocating, and any way devising and designing to deceive our neighbor laying to his charge things that he knows not).

Lies can and will destroy not only the person telling it but also those who are around them. When I was a little girl my Father and Mother always told us to tell the truth all the time. Even if it was something we as kids have done wrong.

In our society today one doesn’t have to teach children how to lie they already no how to do it and it’s all because of sin, but it’s our job as godly parents to teach our children to tell the truth know matter how ugly it is.  When a person tells the truth they should be rewarded for it, let them know how proud you are of them for being courageous to tell the truth.

It’s not easy standing up for truth, but at the end of the day what is important, telling a lie or speaking the truth and having integrity?
