What R-U- NERVOUS About?

What are you nervous about? In life there are many things that causes a person to become nervous.

Philippians 4:6-7 says” Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Often times when we are nervous and anxious the last thing we do is come to this bible verse of comfort, and yet we will talk to every person who will listen to us we will walk around with our heads in the sand. We have many countless nights of sleep all because we refuse to take everything to the Lord.

Why we don’t take this verse serious.

We truly don’t believe that God will answer our prayer. Reason we don’t believe that He will answer is because we are waiting for Jesus to answer it our way. We don’t have faith in God. We enjoy the drama in our lives.

Notice in the scripture it first tells us to bring everything to God. Next we are to pray with supplication and thanksgiving. Supplication means to ask of God, and when you ask you are to humble yourself and then ask forgiveness.  Thanksgiving is to give God praises for who He is, don’t wait till God answers your prayers thank Him immediately.

Once you do what the verse said, God said that His peace will be upon you. He will give you peace in your heart as well in your mind. You will have so much peace that you yourself will be surprise as to how you can function knowing that you are facing a struggle.

I often counsel people and the first thing I hear a lot of is ” people saying that they are constantly worrying about the problem.  I ask them have you done what Philippians 4:6-7 says, and they say it’s so hard to do. Yes it is hard especially if we aren’t trusting God.

God will always keep His word to us, we are the ones that must do what the word says if we are going to see it work in our lives. AMEN
