Crowns In Life

2 Timothy 4:8 says” in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

When you hear the word “crown” what is the first thought that comes into your mind? For most people we think about royalty, right? We know that the Queen of England wears a crown.  But what does it mean to wear a crown? We honor those who wears a crown, we respect them. But did you know that one day when Jesus comes back for His church that you and I will also wear a crown? Our crown will be like no other crown, it will be more elaborate then those who we see wearing a crown. And here is something else I bet you probably didn’t know, we will have more than one crown. And we will toss our crowns at the feet of Jesus Christ.

We should never seek our crowns here on earth and yet there are so many people who believe that they deserve their crown here on earth. They believe that since they do good that they must be honored. Jesus reminds us never to seek after the things of this world, and He tells us that for a reason. If we continue to seek after things of this world we will be disappointed in life. Go after the things of God and you will never go wrong. AMEN

Here are a few bible verses to show you what God says about the crown.

1 Thessalonians 2:19 For who is our hope or joy or crown of exultation? Is it not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming?

James 1:12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

1 Peter 5:4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
