Does your day consist on you letting your thoughts consume you that you aren’t able to enjoy your day?

I know our minds are flooded with all types of thoughts for we are surrounded by people everywhere we go. We hear other people’s conversation and even though we say we aren’t listening our mind is gather information. So how does one process all this information we are receiving?

We try so hard to get a grip on our thoughts, when we relax our thoughts are racing, when we read our bibles our thoughts reminds us of our long to do list that we haven’t finished.

Many of us can’t even get a good night sleep all because we give control over to our thoughts. Sounds, familiar doesn’t it? The answer to all of this is simple and yet  it is not an easy thing to do. First of all we have got to stop giving our thoughts control over our mind. remember you have control over it. What ever controls you is your master.

Secondly, we have to change the way we think and that is what is found in Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

When we start thinking on these verses we will begin to see that we won’t have all these other things consuming our mind. If you think about it, we think about more negative things then we think about good things. When something good happens it is a short memory, but when bad things happen we give it way to much attention. Let’s start today by changing our minds shall we?

  1. Lovely and well said! Taking your thoughts captive and focusing on “whatever is lovely” are such words of wisdom. We live in a world full of distractions and dirty laundry sells best, but learning to focus on the good is so important.
