Romans 12:19 says” Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
Why do you get upset? No, this is not a trick question. There are so many reasons as to why a person gets upset. But I do believe the main reason is that it went against what you stood for.
As Christians the world views us as though we aren’t allowed to get upset, as if we are to tolerate bad-behavior. We have some Christians that actually walk around letting others walk all over them. Let’s look at a few scriptures as to how we are to respond when we become up set and how to handle folks, shall we?
In Mark 11:15 Jesus entered the temple and turned the tables upside down for the people were making a mockery out of the house of God. Obviously Jesus was upset. For we see that in His actions now look at what He said next, ” And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.
This is a prime example as to how we are to respond when we are upset. We aren’t to go and get revenge, to hurt them. Jesus didn’t allow those people to walk over Him. He stood firm to His conviction of God’s Word.
Getting upset is normal folks it’s how we handle it that will either make us or break us. And most of the time many of us get frustrated because we handled it the wrong way. Start today by handling it the way Jesus did and then you won’t become so aggravated.
