Genesis 3:8-9 When they heard the sound of God strolling in the garden in the evening breeze, the Man and his Wife hid in the trees of the garden, hid from God. God called to the Man: “Where are you?”
Last night while reading in Genesis 3 I had to pause and ask myself “how cool is that?” I tried to imagine in my mind and set the scene of how Adam and Eve walking in the garden having nothing to worry about being carefree, until they both ate from the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil. To be able to live a life-like the one they lived, we can only dream of such a life. Truth is that is just how God intended life for us to be. What really caused me to pause was how God strolled in the garden calling their names/
And so I got to thinking, does God stroll through my garden and do I hear Him like Adam heard His voice? I do believe that God is so wanting to be apart of every area in our life, but because you and I aren’t willing to live and give it over to Him we don’t always hear the voice of God calling out to us. Obviously this scripture tells me two things, Adam and Eve knew God’s voice for God talked with them, secondly because Adam and Eve saw that they were naked they hid themselves from God. Of course God knew where they were. The point that God wants us to know is that He is always with is and we shouldn’t hide from Him when we do wrong.
- Do you stroll in the garden where the Lord is?
- Do you hear God calling you?
- Or are you hiding from God
