Hebrews 4:12 says” For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Have you noticed when you have read the word often times it cuts you to sharp that you say “ouch” do you know why this happens? It happens because God’s word is sharp and when you and I still have things in our lives that we haven’t given over to God or we don’t see God’s truth to something. It will cut through our own intellect of what we thought something meant.
It’s not that God is trying to tear you down it’s that God want you to have the same mind that is in Christ Jesus,” let this mind that is in Christ Jesus be also in you.
To be able to get a deeper illustration of what God is saying here is to imagine you take a very sharp knife and you place the knife over the bone to take one slice immediately that bone is broken and all you see is the marrow of the bone.
It’s just like a butcher when he cut the meat for customers that butcher has cut the bone through and through leaving nothing behind and so is it with the word of God it’s that sharp.
Imagine how sharp it will be when you and I speak? Imagine what your prayer life will be? Imagine what your life would be like? How your journey with the Lord will be if you allowed the word to sharpen you without you getting upset?
