How we forget about the Mercies of God!

Lamentations 3:22-23 says” It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion fail not. They are new every morning, great is thy faithfulness

Mercy!!!! I wonder at times how we overlook the mercies of God. When we are expecting something to turn out the way we have set in our minds and when it doesn’t we immediately become ungrateful for the mercy of God. Just because Jesus didn’t do it the way you wanted it doesn’t mean that He didn’t answer your petition. And so as I  was on my way to work this morning I was listening to this song called  “But God”it had me thinking about just how easy we forget about the mercies of God.

God doesn’t have to answer the way I think He should and I shouldn’t be thinking that He will. When we anticipate God to answer the way we want and it doesn’t happen we feel as though we don’t have a testimony. But if we understood Mercy we will begin to see that He does answer us. And because He answers us we have a testimony. Below is a few of the words from the song and I pray it causes you to ponder more on the mercies of God.

Lyrics to the Song “But GOD”

Every time I think that I’m all by myself, I just look up in the sky and that’s where I find my help. You were bout to lose everything, but God.

And the devil tried to test your faith but God, Nobody but GOD. But GOD!
Give me one good reason why you should still be alive.
That accident you passed last night was meant to take your life.
It would have been you in the grave, you could have been with the pain.
When the judge said twenty to life, should have been calling your name, but God.

You were bout to lose everything, but God.
When the doctor said any day, but God (then you went back and he couldn’t find nothing!). And your situation may have looked impossible and now people are looking for an explanation on how in the world you made it through what you went through. Tell them your testimony and say you know what? It was nobody but God!
