Why R we so Easily Offended?

Jeremiahs 6:10 says” To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the LORD is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.

What makes us so offended so quickly? Why do our feelings get hurt so easily? Could it be that when someone says something that goes against what we feel, think and believe? I am sure that we all have our reasons but I think we all need to really look at this because we should be so easily offended. The scriptures tell us how to handle offenses and how others where offended by what Jesus did. So I will ask again why are we so easily offended? The best answer is found in Jeremiah 6:10 To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the LORD is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.
SisterWhen you and I are so easily offended we have a real issue that is embedded on the inside of us and it’s like a dead root that needs to be dug out so that new healthy roots can grow there. But until we are ready to admit it we will never grow pass the stage we are  in God.

Now I am not saying that God won’t use you but when we refuse to get what is hindering us to be whole the Lord will allow what is bothering you to mold and shape you to be more like Him. Do you not think that Jesus was hurt when his disciples doubted Him? When Peter wouldn’t  trust Him enough in the storm? Bottom-line is this now matter how offended we become we have to keep doing what is right we can’t be so easily offense because if we do we will never move from the step we are standing on.

The Bible asserts that all men and women are morally ruined, and filthy.

The Bible asserts that unless Jesus “saves” a soul, that soul will be damned forever in a lake of fire.

The Bible asserts that all persons are completely incapable of meriting or earning mercy, forgiveness, or eternal life.

The Bible asserts that man’s religion is corrupted and incapable of helping him.

The Bible asserts that every person is mentally fallen—human thoughts and thought processes are corrupted and alienated from God and must repent and yield to the Holy Spirit of God.

The Bible asserts that Jesus Christ must do for man what man cannot do for himself; that man is helpless and needs a Savior.

Are you OFFENDED?  This is the real reason as to why man is so offended.

  1. I had a revelation a few years ago that Jesus was not offended that Judas was going to betray him- He washed Judas feet and had dinner with him before being betrayed- so I have no rights to being offended. Also offense is just a runner root of pride.
    Great blog!

    1. Thank you my dear, glad you enjoyed the post. Jesus did wash their feet and when Judas betrayed him the Lord Jesus already knew what he was going to do, that is why He said ” Judas go and do what you have to do. We have no right as humans to be offended but we both know that many people are in this world
