Having the Mind of Christ

1 Corinthians 2:16 says’ For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

What does it really mean to have the mind of Christ? Seriously, how are we to have the mind of Christ. I am so glad you asked.

To have the mind of Christ means being able to understand his will, his plans and desires based on His character and purpose and his plan to resolve

It means seeing and evaluating things from God’s perspective and putting His values like, loving what He loves and hating what he hates. It means understanding God’s holiness, purity, perfection, completeness of character and separation from evil and sin’s awfulness.

Having the mind of Christ also means possessing an attitude of humility, servant-hood and selflessness that puts the needs of others and their best interest above our own, just as Christ did in giving His life to save us.

I do believe that every believer should take a serious look at the mind of Christ and then ask yourself, “were do you fit in all of this?”

  2. Another inspiring message! Indeed, true believers have the mind of Christ. They have eternal life in Him. “Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” – Ro. 8:9. But since Jesus = the Word of God Who became flesh & dwelt among us & His Spirit (the Holy Spirit) was given to those who believe on Him… “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God” Ro. 8:16. We can truly rejoice – knowing the mind of God towards righteousness. Through the written Word we receive instruction; by the Holy Spirit we receive proper understanding & power to have the very works of God manifest in & through us! “For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure “ – Phil. 2:13. Peace!
