Empty Hands

You Be The Difference!

We all have something that we can do and share to make a difference. It’s not about how much you give it’s not about doing it later, it’s all about doing it at that very moment. I am such a stronger believer that God places people in our paths for specific reasons. I’m not talking about the people who you are friends with today. Although they are there by our own choice. What I am talking about is how out of nowhere someone says to you in general passing by that they are not having a great day.

For years I was the type of person who would say in passing “hello or hi” and keep it moving especially if I didn’t know you. But the Lord convicted me of that many years ago and so today I want to share with you what He said to me. The Lord spoke to me telling for now on end when you pass a person you are to say “How are you doing”, needless to say when you ask a person that question it gives them time to respond and it might take a little longer as you listen. I wasn’t sure why the Lord wanted me to do this, but He had His reasons and I wanted to be obedient.

The moment I started asking people “how are you?” I heard stories that you would not believe, I heard some sad stories I heard some great stories. And I met some amazing people. But what the Lord was showing me and what I learned from all of this was, generally for the most part. People have heavy burdens on their hearts and all they want is for someone to listen and know that there are still some genuine people in the world who really do care about a person.

I have to say that it was truly a humbling experience for me, not only had it helped me to be more appreciative but  also to look at others through the eyes of Christ. Jesus would never see any of His children in need and turn His head. And yet how can we who say that we love the Lord see someone hurting let them leave with empty hands? Knowing all too well we could have helped them at that very moment. In all honesty if you are truly a born again believer and Jesus Christ is your Savior, that moment that you walked away and did nothing you should have felt the Holy Spirit tugging at your heart to convict you of not helping when you know you could.

In Matthew 25:37-44 it talks about the Sheep and the Goat. Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.  For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you? He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.

May God have Mercy On Our Soul.
