Unfamiliar Territory?

Isaiah 42:16 says” And I will bring the bling by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known. I will make darkness light before them and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them and not forsake them.

When you find yourself in an Unfamiliar Territory?

wilderness

Every person on this earth will one day find themselves in an unfamiliar place and you will not know or understand it. But for those who are born again believers the bible clearly gives us a guide when we are in uncharted places. When you read the scripture of Isaiah God gives us a parable to that of a blind person. A blind person relies solely on his or her other senses which are hearing, touch, smell and taste. They memorize things that are familiar around them, like a wall how many steps up or down and so forth. But if you would take them out of their familiar surroundings then they would rely upon a friend or someone else to help them to get around as they walk by side you.

When God places His children in unfamiliar places we are like the blind person, we are lost, nothing seems familiar to us. We become a little scared because we can’t rely upon what we know to be true. The person who helps us is the Lord Jesus Christ, He is the one in whom we have to hold His hands as He guides us through this place of unfamiliar territory?

For the last several weeks I have found myself in an unfamiliar territory? and I know that it’s the Lord who has placed me there for such a time as now. And normally when the Lord puts me some place I jump up and down and I have all this excitement, but this time it’s totally different. My feels are numb; I find myself walking very slow not sure what to do or what to expect. There’s a stretching that God is doing in this place in me. I can already sense Him telling me that He is going to break my emotions” so that I don’t trust my emotions. It’s crazy how when we get all emotional about things we automatically assume that God did it, but if we don’t have no emotions displayed we think it was not of GOD! Do I need to say any more?

As a disciple of Christ Jesus I don’t want my relationship based on emotions, because if I do that then how can I walk in faith when my emotions are saying you are defeated. For the bible says we don’t walk by sight but by faith. And I know for sure my emotions will lie to me in a heartbeat. Why? Because emotions are like the whether they change from minute to minute. But my faith in God can’t change it must remain steadfast and committed, unmovable and unstoppable.

Maybe today you’re in an unfamiliar territory? Do what the blind person would do, hold on the hands of Jesus and He will guide you in the darkest and make those crooked places straight. AMEN

  1. The good news is that He does forsake when we obediently move forward in unfamiliar territory. Just this morning while listening to an advertisement for an upcoming women’s conference in 2017, I felt the Lord saying that as women we can become to emotional when we hear a good sermon/message. In order to step into our God ordained destinies we will have to put emotionalism aside to fulfill His purposes.

    Blessings, Fran
