Psalm 118:24 says” This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

1 Chronicles 16:34 says” O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

According to Webster’s the word gratitude means the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness: As you go about your day today, think of ways in which you can show gratitude.

Practice Gratitude:

1.When you find yourself in a bad situation ask yourself, what did I learn?

2. After the initial shock and your emotions has calm down ask what are you grateful for?

One of the ways we end up not being grateful is when we are treated badly. Our emotions get the best of us and we don’t see how we can be grateful? So how does one see past the pain and see the beauty of being thankful? It’s not easy to do but it can be done. You must see the hand of God despite the smoke that is in the air. The only time we do get to see the blessings is after we see how it all plays out. God is wanting us to see the blessing during the smoke. We have God’s promise and we can hold on to His truth.

Have fun with finding ways to practice gratitude today.

  1. Gratitude is of utmost importance to the Lord. He is the Giver, and ALL of His benevolence indeed should be appreciated by the simple gesture of thanksgiving. How disheartening when our gifts are not received with sincere thanks – how much more surely grieved is our Maker when we forget to give thanks! I find it quite interesting when scripture speaks of His wrath, it is associated with a LACK of thanksgiving. “The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shown it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were THANKFUL; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things”- Ro. 1: 18-23. Peace!
