Mark 10:6-9 But at the beginning of creation God made then make and female, for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife. And the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God as joined together, let no man separate.Mark
This devotion is for my married couples, that husband and wife who have been married for some years now, do you still have those feels that you can’t be without them? Do they still make your heart skip a beat when you hear their voice? Do your hands get sweaty when you hold hands? Do you still have date night after being married for so many years? Are you able to finish each other conversations? Do you still tell each other daily how much you love them?
In our society, the world tells us that couples who have been married for more than seven years they will fall out of love. I must say that they are wrong folks. For when you are in love there is no such thing as falling out of love. If you don’t love your spouse anymore it’s not because you fell out of love, it’s because your relationship with Jesus is broken. Every marriage has troubles that’s why we must keep Jesus the center of the marriage, when you refuse to obey the word and you use your own strength to keep your marriage working, it’s not going to work folks. Your hitting a brick wall. Marriage only works when we apply the word of God to it. You have good intension but we can’t do it on our own, we must apply the word and do the word if we are to ever be a marriage that the world wants.
People in this world who don’t have a Godly marriage they don’t have a clue to what a Godly marriage looks like, it’s up to us to show them what it looks like. Our marriage is to reflect Jesus Christ. So, when your marriage is out of control and all over the place it’s safe to say so is your relationship with Jesus.
And the only way to fix any problem or problems you have in your marriage is to first get your relationship with God back on track first. Repent and ask Him to forgive you. Then you start praying and asking God to cleanse your heart and get the pride out. Then you go to your spouse and ask them to forgive you, then the both you of get on your knees and pray together as a couple to Jesus. Tell Jesus what problems you both have and allow the Holy Spirit to mend them. Ask Jesus to give you a love for your spouse like only He can do. It’s a process it won’t happen over night, but you will start to notice those little changes and don’t stop praying as a couple. The enemy will try to do everything including making you both so busy that you don’t pray together. Once the enemy sees a married christian couple praying together he gets worried for he knows you are not taking his mess any longer and that you mean business.
Have a blessed Saturday and may your marriage be fruitful just the way God intended it to be!
