Can we just talk this morning? I have been a Christian for thirty-seven (37) years now. And I am just amazed at just how God knows about me. Now when I say this I am not talking about the basics. I am talking about when I am not so nice of a Christian. Don’t turn your nose up at me because you aren’t perfect either; had you been He would have called you home long time ago.
It’s those moments not days but moments when I listen to my flesh my own intellect. It’s when I should have said thank you when the clerk was nasty it’s the moments when I complain about stuff. I have read my bible front and back all my years of being a Christian. I know what’s in the word so no one can try to trick me into believing anything else. But I am still not perfect, I have flaws.
But when I read Psalm 139 and it talks about just how well God knows every little intricate of me it just blows me away. Let me give you a few of those verses. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. Family just this verse here just knocks me off my feet. That my God knows my thoughts before I do and that He knows what will cause me to say something nice or not so nice. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! The thoughts that God has concerning me far outnumber the grain on the sea sand shores. Do you know what that means family? That means He is constantly thinking about you and I.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? Family why do we run away from God when we mess up? I tell you why, because the devil tells us that since we messed up God is mad at us and that He won’t forgive us. But these scriptures say no matter how far I think I am running away from God His spirit is right with me. There is no place that we can go that His presence is not with us. So, when we hide in those dark caves God is there with you.
Today I challenge you right where you are and read Psalm 139 rather it be on your iPhone, smartphone or your bible on your desk. When you read it, read it slowly and let the Holy Spirit breathe those words over you. As Christians, we need to know just how well our Lord knows us so well. Some of us are under the impression that God doesn’t know everything about you but I am here to tell you that His word says He knows you more than you think He does.
Lord, let your Holy Spirit breathe over us as we read these scriptures let us come in awe of who you are in our lives. Let us come to know that you care about us totally, forgive us for our unbelief, forgive us for listening to the devil. Heal and restore to us what the enemy has stolen from us, Jesus. Draw our hearts closer to you in the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray. AMEN
