Happy New Years Family and Friends!!! I am sure that a lot of us will be sharing our thoughts and what we did for the New Year Eve Celebration.
Last night my husband and I watch the “key drop” for 2017 along with hundreds of other people. We stood out in the cold bundle up while drinking Coco to keep us warm. Many people were dressed up in their fine evening dresses and suits. Children were with their families and teenagers had blankets to keep warm. Surely it was nice sharing the last moments of the old year with people we never knew.
As hubby and I counted down the time with everyone else I saw a flash back of how the old year is about to come to an end. My husband is so sweet in telling me baby it’s okay to feel what you are feeling. Then it happened it was time to count from ten to one and like boom it was 2017. The whistles went off the song began to play which always has a way of making me cry, it’s the song called Auld Lang Syne should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind. Should all acquaintance be forgot and auld lang syne.
As we left all the people and walked back to our car headed for home, my mind began to wonder about what I want to do different. When we arrived at our home I told my husband let’s start this new year with us praying on our knees asking God to deepen our relationship with Him. Before we knew it we were praying about everything. We prayed for guidance and wisdom in this new year. We prayed for our children to grow in their relationship with Christ. As we were praying together the Lord was touching both our hearts and my husband started to cry. We both know that tears is a way that God cleanses us from the inside out. And that God restores what is broken on the inside.
When we finished praying we hugged one another and asked for forgiveness. I don’t know what God has for us but one thing is for sure He comes before anything we do. I wish each of you a Happy New Year and I pray that your relationship with God grows. AMEN
