Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Baptist minister and activist who was a leader in the Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs.

Last year me and my husband went to Washington District of Columbia and we saw the statue that they made of him. We both took pictures of him. As we stood there we began reflecting on what it must have been like to live in those times a black person?

I have to ask myself what would Martin Luther King say about what has happen for the things in which he fought for? There have been a lot of changes that I can say but I still have to say allot more has to change.

Dr. King made many speeches but the one that I believe is his most famous speech is “I Have a Dream.” If you have not heard it I am adding the video to today’s devotion.
