Joel 2:25 says’ I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.
Per Wikipedia the word shipwreck is the remains of a ship that has wrecked, which are found either beached on land or sunken to the bottom of a body of water.
In each of our lives we have all to some degree been shipwreck, the question we must ask ourselves is “how are we going to bounce back? In this life, we will sell out for what we want, we will be so committed to a cause to reach our destiny. But what we haven’t been taught in life is that when we are ship-wreck where do we go from there?
Our very own lives are shipwreck, we have relationship that are shipwreck the decisions we make are shipwreck and yet with all this great lost we still some who manage to think we can handle it. We don’t go to the one person who can help us, we become bitter and harden hearts. We make other people pay the price for what someone else done to us.
God saw us and He bankrupted heaven to send His Son for our lives. Jesus can do allot with our shipwreck lives, He knows how to speak to the broken hearted, and down cast. When the ashes in our lives begin to settle down and there all over the place we think that that is the end of life for us, we don’t see a better future. God on the other hand sees great things in our ashes, He takes them and make them into beautiful vessels, vessels that will never be broken or forgotten ever again.
When Jesus walked the earth with His disciples, He told them to bring your sick and diseased people for the Lord is close to the broken hearted. Maybe today you are wondering that when will the change come for you? I want you to know that the Lord Jehovah will restore back to you the years that the locust has eaten, now I don’t know about you but that right there is enough to shout and dance about. Because God said not just the days or months that was stolen from you but He said “YEARS.” When God restores it’s as if it never happens to you, He makes it brand new.
Life happens to all of us and we can’t control what happens to us, but what we can control is how we are going to respond to it. So, when life hits instead of letting the locust eat your hope up go to Jesus first for He cares for you. Remember He is close to the broken hearted and He will never turn His back upon you.
Now that you know that Jesus is there it’s not so bad being shipwreck, is it? When you have Jesus as your Lord and Savior it doesn’t matter what happens in this life, you have an Advocate who looks out for you. But those who don’t have Jesus as their Lord and Savior I don’t know how they make it in life. Let us pray for those who don’t have the assurance that we have in Jesus, that they come to know Him today.
