Saturday’s Life Application Word~ Innocent~

Matthew 18:3 says” Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven

Question: How Innocent Are You?

When we think of the word innocent we associate it with meaning not guilty, right? But are we innocent? According to the bible no one is innocent, we all have fallen short of the glory of God.

Yesterday, my husband and I took our grandson to Harper’s Ferry and if you ever been there it’s surrounded by mountains, but down in the valley they have river rafting that so many people enjoy doing.

And of course, there is some history in this town. Our grandson has never been there and so we wanted him to experience this beautiful place.

While we were there we walked across this long bridge to see the trains come through over the water, the look in my grandson’s eyes as we crossed that bridge with the water underneath us was priceless. What I love about that look was his innocence that he has. Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. What was He saying? He was talking about the innocence of a child.

We know that we all are born into sin, but a child is innocent in heart for they have not been tainted by the world yet, therefore children are so easily to trust Jesus then adults do.

I ask you today, how innocent are you? Do you have that same innocence that Jesus is talking about that? If you don’t today would be a great day for you to say ” Lord, help me in my unbelief.

    1. Good day, thank you for stopping in and reading today’s devotion. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Have a bless rest of your day.

  1. we too often forget that we have a loving Father… I saw a sign on a church earlier today, it said, Don’t say Our Father on Sunday if you are an orphan the rest of the week. Innocence and orphans… lots of food for thought and prayer.

    1. I like that sign on the church. It’s truly food for our souls. And we need to really understand it.

Jesus said, why call me Lord, if I am not the Lord of your life.

  2. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1 John 1:8

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:3
    (KJV)
