Matthew 6:26 says, look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Did you know that through the course of the day we say the word me a lot of times? We think about our day, we say think about, our health, our thoughts and feelings. Our past and future, our mission in life and our enemies. This is just to name a few of them, which tells me we spend way too much time thinking about ourselves.
Did you not know that you don’t belong to yourself for you belong to God and He has called you into His wonderful light? Which means He knows everything about you and me. He created you and since He created us why do we spend so much time thinking about ourselves?
We are self-absorbed people when we need to be more Christ-centered? Jesus want us to be good stewards He never intended for us to be consumed and preoccupied with ourselves. So, what’s lacking within us that we think about ourselves all the time?
When you and I become this occupied with ourselves several things will surely take place and you might not even be aware of it. The first, is that we end up taking God for granted. Secondly, we lose our zeal that we once had for God, and the things in which we once consider to be important, we don’t see them as important any longer. Thirdly, we begin to blame others for our failures.
I know we need to take care of ourselves but if we put so much pressure on us ourselves all the time, where do we leave room for God? Like I said, He created us in His image, did you ever see Jesus being consumed with Himself? No, you never did, He never said that we are to be consumed over such matters. Don’t let it over consume you that, that is all you do.
The world is big and God has so much He wants to reveal to you but if you’re so busy thinking of ourselves in this temporal living then my friend you are going to miss a whole lot.
I challenge you today is to give those things over to God, life is so much more than ourselves other people are waiting on you. God created you for worship how can you worship if all you do is think of yourself and your needs?
Did He not say that He will take care of us? Matthew 6:26 says, look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
