Matthew 15:11 says’ It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”
Seems like everywhere you look you see all the talk about “detox” so many recipes telling you to add all these colorful fruits to your water, or you have the ones that tells you to add vegetables. So, what is it about this detox that has so many people trying it? Is it the results that they claim? Sure, eating more fruit and vegetables are a positive thing, but what they don’t tell you is that some fruits carry way too much sugar which in turns will put fat on you. Yeah, you didn’t search that did you? It will make you go to the bathroom, but did you know the first five pounds that you lose is not weight loss, it’s water that you are losing. Which means you will gain more weight.
We have become so lazy that we don’t want to do the work ourselves we run to quick schemes. Hoping to get those fast results only to end up in the long run damaging our bodies. Don’ t get me wrong I enjoy working out, I go to the gym three days a week and sometimes four if I feel I need to. I do the hard work, I don’t use quick tricks I’ve discipline myself. For me it’s a lifestyle that I will live.
But what about our mouths? Our mouths are running rampant, we give no thoughts to what we say, or what our words will do. We need to learn to watch those words which comes out of our mouths. Words hurt and we can never take them back. So why do we let trash come from our mouths? It’s the flesh that we are wanting to please, we rather please the flesh then to ignore the flesh.
Today I challenge you to guard your words, if what you are about to say does not encourage, motivate or help then put your mouth on a lock. For there really is no reason to say ugly words.
