Whose Book RU Reading?

Joshua 1:8 says” This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

I want to ask you what book are you reading? We must be very careful as to who’s books we read as believers, far too many books are being published that are compromising the word of God. Reading other books should never take away from our time with the word nor should it substitute for the real meat of God.

Let me give you an illustration of how the enemy preys on us in this area.

You:  WOW! I found a new book to read from my favorite author, it’s going to be good
Satan: Yeah, their stuff is always good
You: Let me call my friends and tell them about this great book
Satan: Hey, you should bring it to the church and have a study on it
You: Yeah, that would be great I know the church would love it
Spirit of God: You missed reading the bible last night
You: OH, I know I was caught up in a new book I will read it tomorrow
Satan: Don’t feel bad you are reading the bible when you read the new book
You: Yes, I am getting the word in me
Satan: See, God wants you to read His word it doesn’t always have to come from the bible
Spirit of God: My child it’s been days since you read the bible
You: I’ve been busy, it’s a good book and I am getting Your word in me
Spirit of God: NO, you are not getting my word. You are getting the author perspective of my word,
You: I thought I was getting your word, Lord?
Spirit of God:  I will have no other gods before me, in the beginning was the word and the word was with God
Satan: I am out of here……. I can’t stay here God has spoken
