Worship

John 4: 23-24 says” Jesus saying, “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth

Yesterday while in church I stating thinking about “worship” I thought are we really worshipping the Lord Jesus or are merely going by our emotions? The bible tells us that we worship the Lord in truth and spirit. Worship has to be more then singing and praising God.

But do we know that means? I have to say I don’t think that we have even begun to touch the surface of what worshiping the Lord God is all about. When one is in the presence of the Lord I do believe that one feels a certain amount of emotion, it’s the feeling one gets after receiving a blessing from the Lord. We are so thankful, excitable and our emotions shows the feeling that we feel within our spirit.

I think at times we assume that worship is only when we are in the church but to me worship is everywhere I go. Worship just can’t be about me singing songs or when my hands are lifted. Worship is my lifestyle of me serving the Lord.

When we cultivate this lifestyle then we come into the church with the rest of the body of Christ we are like what David said” I was glad when they said unto me; let us go into the house of the Lord.

I remember when I was a young Christian I never understood when I would see people jumping or dancing in church, that just didn’t make sense to me. Oh, but over the years as I started growing and knowing about the Lord I learned why they did it.

God told Moses that mortal man could not see the face of God and live. It’s our spirit that brings us into the presence of God. I can’t explain it but what I do know is this, when we spend time in the word of God and talk to the Lord we learn about God and we long to follow Him and His word. Our hardened hearts become of flesh and before you know it you are in His presence.

As you go about your Monday I pray that you remember to worship the Lord. Have a Blessed Monday guys.

  1. Worship is a lifestyle. Nicely said and I couldn’t agree with you more. The bible said whatever we do we should do it to the glory of God. Thanks for sharing. #Peace

  2. Well observed!

“when we spend time in the word of God and talk to the Lord we learn about God and we long to follow Him and His word.”

If we go to a restaurant it’s probably because we’re hungry, and we went to feed ourselves. No matter how elegant or simple or fun the place is if we did not feed it did not work. We will remain with the need for food and with hunger.

In the same way, our soul hunger and thirst for the Light of the Word of God.
The central moment of worship, which should be the motive that led us to the Church, is to receive food from the Word of God; is the time when God is speaking to the soul and mind of every person in the Church. This is the food of communion with God, and that remains and that we take home and for our lives.
The Bread of the Word is the food that will have eternal effects.
