God is Our Helper

Isaiah 41:10 says’ So, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Let me give you a bit of the story behind this verse. More than 150 years before Cyrus ‘birth, Isiah saw that God would raise up a man to fulfill his plan and purpose by conquering the nations and protecting Israel in the process. This man was Cyrus, the king of Persia, he was the one who released the Jews from their Babylonian exile.

And so, God was telling Israel that they do not have to be fearful of anything that they see or hear for the Lord their God is with them. So often when we see or hear about things that rattles us we forget that the Lord is still with us. We have an assurance that we don’t have to be so downhearted.

As Christians we don’t have to fear any human because God is with us, He gives us grace and strength needed to face all of life’s circumstances. He helps us through times of crisis by giving us hope and peace.

As I read verse ten that word so, speaks volumes to me. It’s telling me that God is saying “ now my child I know how this has affected you, but I am telling you now, do not fear it. Maybe you don’t get the impact of how this one word says it all but to me it does.

Life has a way of speaking negative words so much that it leaves us confused and upset but when the Lord speaks to us, it brings clarity and peace. AMEN

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! I wish you all a blessed Happy New Year 2018
