Getting the Job Done

Colossians 3:23 says’ Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

What is it about us that we struggle with getting the task at hand done? Seriously folks, we always seem to get someone else to either do the job for us or help us out. For instance, let say that you and one of your friends decided to do a project together. But for some unseen circumstances your friend informs you that they can’t help you.

What do you do? Naturally we get upset but that does not mean that we still can’t do the work. Oh, no that is far from our minds only thing we can see is how they let us down, and how can we get out of doing the work ourselves.

When there is work that must be done, regardless of who can or can not help us. The work must be done, that is why we are to work as unto the Lord. For when we work as unto the Lord it doesn’t matter who is helping or not helping us.

Our work unto the Lord is what pleases the Lord. Don’t take it so hard when someone say to you they can’t help you. There have been times in my marriage that me and my husband would schedule a time to do a project and something would come up that either him or I weren’t able to do it.

Does it make us feel disappointed of course it does but things happen in life? We can either chose to be upset or we can go and do the work. I can hear some saying that you would just leave it and not do it. Yeah, you probably would. But that is not how you handle things. What your saying is that you would have stuff piled up and out of order instead of doing the job yourself? You think your punishing your spouse, but you are only hurting yourself.

Remember whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. When we work unto the Lord our work is never in vain.
