Philippians 4:8 says”Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
How much junk do we allow to come into our lives? How do we filter these things out of our thoughts and our actions? Well for one we can’t set up no spam folder so what does a person do? During the course of the day we do a lot of business giving out our email address, seems like no matter what we are doing someone is asking for our email address.
One of the ways that you and I can filter the emails in our lives is to do an inventory of what is important and what is not. Believe it or not at the end of the day we will see where we wasted and neglect another areas. Don’t let your life become like your email boxes filled of spam and all junk mail with no place to go
Life brings with it a lot of uncertainties but one thing we can control is what we will accept and what we won’t accept.
Personal note: The next time your thoughts all over the place remember this verse it will surely keep the clutter out of your mind but you have to do what the scripture says in order for it to work. AMEN?
Such a good reminder! My days go by in such a blur, you’ve reminded me to stop and take an inventory of what I let in and what I’m sending out. Thanks 🙂
We do tend to take in so much that we havent processed what is good and what is not.
Thanks for commenting.
My spam verse is “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”
I really appreciate this! This verse from Philippians is an excellent measure by which we can filter through the “information” we’re saturated with day in and day out.
thank you for taking the time to read the devotion and commenting.
Yes, Amen!
