Is God first or Second In your Life?

1 Kings 18:21 “Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.

Why is it that a person puts the Lord second, rather than first?  We get out of bed in the morning and we start our day before even giving God our attention. We want a new career and we will seek out resources before asking the Lord is this what He would have us to do. I don’t believe that we are really aware of just how much we have placed the Lord in second place.

Why do we put Jesus second when we are so openly to say that He is number one in our lives? What causes you and I to do such a thing? Does our very own will have that much control over us? Or is it that we are what it say’s in 1 Kings 18:21 “Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.

Everyone person who says in his or her heart that they love Jesus Christ we need to check our hearts and motives today. Everything that Jesus did He did so to the Father’s Will. And that is how we are to follow Christ. When we were sinners we followed our own will did as we pleased and now that we are born again our life is not our own. We can’t do what we want anymore.

Have you noticed that no matter how hard you try to do something it doesn’t work? You know why? t’s because we have chosen to not make God first. When we make God first in all that we do nothing becomes a struggle it’s only a struggle when we place God in second place.

I know this is a hard pill to swallow, yesterday the Lord spoke to my heart about this very thing. And I have to say it has humbled me and I want the Lord to do the work on my heart so that my motives will be honored by the Lord. When God is first everything else will fall into place. AMEN!

    1. I agree its hard waiting. As we grew as a person we where condition not to wait this is why we struggle with waiting in the Lord. Teachers, friends and parents taught us to not wait but go after what you want.
